1 stick of butter
1 cup of white rice
1 onion, diced (optional)
1 7 oz jar of sliced mushrooms (drained, but save the liquid)
2 beef bouillon cubes
2 cups of water
Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add the rice, onions, and mushrooms.
Saute for 3-5 minutes, or until the rice is golden brown.
Add the bouillon cubes, water, and reserved mushroom liquid.
Stir well.
Lower heat, cover, and simmer for 25 mins, or until the rice is completely cooked.
Recipe originated from Gene and Bob Dyer who lived next door to Ginnie and Bopa in Fort Rucker, the first time they lived there.
